Konami Renews Suikoden Trademark

Trademark renewals are not an actual indication of project activity in the works but Konami specifically stated that their Tokyo Game Show reveal will be hosted by the voice actor Yuji Kaji, who provided the voice for Jowy back in Suikoden 2 and Suikoden Tierkreis. One publishing source revealed that the unveiling is likely to be related to a smaller project rather than the larger planned revivals for titles the likes of Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Metal Gear Solid. The Suikoden series kicked off back in 1995 in Japan on the Sony PlayStation. The game would later soon release in North America in 1996 and then in Europe in 1997. A Sega Saturn release followed suit later in 1998. The game went on to receive a second installment, following the success of the first iteration. Suikoden 2 was finally unveiled for Japan in 1998, North America got an English release later in 1999 and the PAL regions got their very own version later in 2000. The third iteration of the franchise got a joint release for both Japan and North America in 2002, but the game wouldn’t get a PAL release until later in 2015 when the game was finally made available on the PlayStation Network. The last entry into the franchise was released back in 2006 for all regions. Since then, the series remained largely dormant besides the rereleases on newer platforms. So, is Suikoden coming back from the dead later at the Tokyo Game Show with a new game in development? To be honest, we don’t know so take all of this information with a grain of salt.
