Microsoft is revamping the OneDrive experience with an all new home experience. The new OneDrive home will display the most relevant files at the top, categorising them into recently used files and recently updated ones. The new recent view on OneDrive will also automatically surface important files for your work. There’s also a new file type filter button on the top, helping users sort between .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, and .pdf formats. An Activity column is coming to the My files tab, with information on “most recent, unseen edits, and comments on your shared documents.” The option to pin documents libraries to the Quick access tab is also coming with the new OneDrive updates. Unfortunately users might have to wait a bit for these features, as the new OneDrive Home will start rolling out after a few months. – Microsoft 365 Blog Microsoft is also working on ease of file sharing between Office apps, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. They announced a bunch of new features last year for Microsoft 365, making the file sharing experience better across the platform. OneDrive Photo story was also released recently, giving users some personal space with a private, invitation-only feed supporting comments, reactions, and notifications.
