On the PlayStation Blog, a new post sheds light on not only the exclusive features and upgrades we’ll get to see with the PC version, but also the full set of hardware requirements for running the game optimally. But, we also got to see some gameplay elsewhere. In a new “PC Features” trailer posted to YouTube, we get to see the iconic wall-crawler swing around the streets of New York City, only this time the game is actually running on PC in real-time. It’s pre-alpha footage, but that doesn’t take away from the excitement. More importantly, though, Insomniac Games reveals that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC will feature improved shadows all around, alongside an unlocked frame rate. Moreover, the game also comes with native support for ultrawide displays and the PS5 DualSense controller, albeit you have to have it plugged in to enjoy the full potential of its adaptive triggers and beefed-up haptic motors. Continuing the tradition, Sony has partnered once again with NVIDIA to bring DLSS support to a new PC release. But, this time, NVIDIA is also bringing its DLAA anti-aliasing tech to Spider-Man. For those of you who don’t know, DLAA is basically just DLSS without the super-sampling component. It’s an anti-aliasing technology that uses the same foundation as DLSS so the end-results are quite the marvel. Apart from DLSS, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will have ray-traced reflections on all compatible hardware. Again, the ideal choice here is NVIDIA’s own RTX 20-series and 30-series GPUs, but AMD‘s RDNA 2 lineup should also be able to produce a ray-traced image, but obviously, the quality will not be on-par with what NVIDIA can achieve with Tensor cores.
Requirements and pre-order details
Now, it’s time for the juicy bit—the requirements. You’d actually be delighted to know that this isn’t a crazily-demanding game, rather it features pretty reasonable hardware perquisites. To get the best experience possible, you’ll still need a RTX 3080 or RX 6950 XT GPU, paired with a Ryzen 9 or 12th Gen Core i7 processor, but that’s for the “Ultimate Ray Tracing” preset that aims for 4K60. The recommended requirements for a 1080p 60FPS experience are much more lenient, asking for only a “measly” GTX 1060 or AMD RX 580, paired up with a generations-old Ryzen 5 or Core i5 CPU. If you’re looking for the absolute bare minimum needed in order to play this game respectably, you’ll need a Core i3 processor (or its AMD equivalent), along with a GTX 950 (or its AMD equivalent). But this will limit you to only 720p, and that too at 30FPS. Lastly, it’s important to mention that there’s also a pre-order bonus waiting for you if you chose to book your game in advance. There’s a “pre-purchase item back” containing 5 extra skill points, already unlocked Spider-Drone combat gadget, and three Spider-Man suits—Iron Spider, Spider-Punk, and Velocity. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is now available for pre-order on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can check out the full announcement blog here to learn more.
