However, recently during an earnings call Questions and Answers session, Bandai Namco executives might have shed some light on the release date of Tekken; when the Bandai Namco execs were asked about the future games from the studio, they said that Tekken 8 is currently under development intending to release it in sometime in the fiscal year 2023. This statement could hint towards a March or later release window, which is not that far, and we might learn more details about the gameplay and new additions to the game. Bandai Namco has already launched a dedicated Tekken 8 website which mentions their goals for Tekken 8. Undoubtedly, the aim of the studio with Tekken 8 is ambitious. The fact that Tekken 8 is entirely next-gen, specially developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC with the latest Unreal Engine 5, unlocks many possibilities that can be implemented in the game both in terms of visuals and new gameplay mechanics. The TEKKEN series holds the record of being the longest-running story in a video game franchise. Just as the ending dialogue of Tekken 7 mentioned, this new entry will focus on the father and son showdown between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.” While there are not many details about the game, we will keep you posted about any further information.
