Ryzen 5 7600X
The budget-friendly Ryzen 5 7600X delivers insanely fast multi-tasking performance with 6 cores and 12 threads. The base clock is at an insanely high 4.7GHz with the CPU being able to boost up to 5.3GHz. Compared to last-gen, the 7600X does consume more power with a 105W TDP (142W PPT), as compared to only 65W on the Ryzen 5 5600X. All yours for just $299.
Test Bench
In a video over at bilibili, we saw the Ryzen 5 7600X paired with an X670 motherboard and DDR5-6000 RAM tested across various softwares. Although, the primary focus on the single-core numbers.
CinebenchR23
The 5 7600X clocked was benchmarked at 2 frequencies (5.0Ghz+ 5.4GHz) in CinebenchR23. The stock variant scores 1784 points at stock speeds, whereas an OC to 5.4GHz boosts this number to 1920 points. To put that into perspective, we compiled a few relative performance benchmarks for reference. These scores lag behind the promised numbers, the R5 7600X hardly manages to keep up with previous leaks. Although, the leaker did say to expect the scores in the 1900–1999 range.
CPU-Z
Moving on to CPU-Z, the CPU scores a respectable 652 points and 734 points respectively stock and 5.5GHz frequencies respectively. This is again, slower than the competition. The R5 7600X even at an overclocked configuration falls short of the i5-12600K. This is really unexpected because it seems that AMD’s architectural improvements scale only to a few benchmarking utilities.
Temperature & Power
The leaker mentions that the CPU (R5 7600X) can attain such high frequencies (5.4GHz – 5.5GHz) at around 1.32V, where the temperatures are around 92C using exotic cooling solutions. Many have claimed that these benchmarks are ‘fake’ and quite possibly doped, so we cannot testify the legitimacy of these numbers.
