Ryzen 9 7845HX

If the naming already puzzles you, then it’s probably going to get even more confusing if we take into consideration AMD’s new naming scheme. For the unaware, a while back AMD unveiled a new naming system for their mobile CPUs. Read more about that here.  In AOTS, the Ryzen 9 7845HX with the Radeon graphics scores 5100 points in the crazy 1080p benchmark. What’s more interesting is the specifications. Being equipped with 24 logical cores, the Ryzen 9 7845HX houses 12 cores and 24 threads. This is quite the uplift from the last generation’s maximum of 8 cores / 16 threads. One can also assume that this is possibly a desktop die to combat Intel’s 13th Gen HX series which was leaked yesterday. Using AMD’s own nomenclature for the Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, we know the Ryzen 9 7845HX Similarly, this is the second CPU from the ‘Dragon Range’ series including the 7945HX that was confirmed by AMD themselves. Other CPUs from the ‘Phoenix‘, ‘Rembrandt-R‘, ‘Barcelo-R‘ and ‘Mendocino‘ families are expected to follow soon.
